(By Peng Qin, Zhan YuPing ) On September 19th, Joana Lopes-Perdigao, a visiting doctor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Chicago, visited our hospital for teaching discussion and academic exchange.

On the morning of 19th, Dr. Perdigao, a visiting doctor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Chicago, received a warmly welcome in our hospital outpatient building, 13th floor conference room 2.She was received by Yu Xiangting, Deputy Director of Medicine school of Wuhan University; Yu Baoping, Vice Minister and Director of Teaching Management Department; Zhang Yuanzhen, Secretary of the Party Committee; Professor Zhang Wei, Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology; Li Jiafu, Director of Obstetrics Department. Afterwards, Professor Zhang Wei gave a presentation of situation of course teaching, internships and residency teaching. Dr. Perdigao gave a speech on management of gestational hypertension.

On the afternoon of 19th, Dr.Perdigao visited the operating room, ICU and neonatology department accompanied by professor Zhang Wei.

On the morning of 20th, Dr.Perdigao participated in Patient rounds in department of obstetrics and gynecology. She had a short visit with Li Jiafu, director of obstetrical department, and young backbone doctors. Afterwards, Dr. Peddigao gave a speech, introducing the residency training of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in University of Chicago. Then, she had a lunch with residents and discussed about the education model of residency training. During the visit, Dr.Perdigao also inspected cultural and natural scenery of our hospital. And She said that ZhongNan hospital of Wuhan university is a place with outstanding people.

After the visit, Dr.Perdigao expressed gratitude for the hospitality of our hospital. She said that the visit to ZhongNan hospital of Wuhan University has left her a profound impression and beautiful expectation. She hope that we can continue to strengthen the cooperation between University of Chicago and Wuhan University, and to promote the development of teaching on both sides.
